The grand finals for the Nordic Startup Awards 2018 were held in Østre Gasværk Theatre in Copenhagen, Denmark. Global Startup Awards together with the regional partner WeLoveStartups has hosted this event.
Sweden has won in 3 categories for the Nordic Startup Awards.
Founder of the Year: Jan Erik Solem
Jan Erik Solem is the co-founder and CEO of Mapillary. Mapillary a platform that host, process, and publish street-level imagery and map data which helps different organizations create better maps. Mapillary is also the winner of the Best AI/Machine Learning Startup in Sweden.
Investor of the Year: Hampus Jakobsson
Hampus Jakobsson has 85 investments and 80% of these investments are within Europe. Hampus has also co-founded 2 companies and 3 organizations dedicated to help out startups.
Best Social Impact Startup: Karma
Karma is an app that empowers consumers and different restaurants, cafes and groceries to battle against food waste. Karma is currently available in Sweden and in the UK. The app has also won Best FoodTech/AgriTech Startup in Sweden.
