What is it: Gimi is a cute app that not only appeals to parents and children, but also change and improve the way they handle digital money.
How it works: When you first sign up, you can choose your role in the application – either as a parent or a child. Gimi leads parents on a step-by-step basis with small descriptions on what to do, such as the average allowance for your kids, or how to teach them about interest rates.
And how does it work from the child’s side? In the Gimi app, every child gets their own virtual piggy bank. This ownership helps them to begin understanding better. The piggy bank automatically accumulates the allowance given, and also states the rewards for tasks.
Gimi is probably the most fuss-free finance app we have ever tried. It doesn’t offer a ton of crazy features, and doesn’t have to. Sometimes, less is more especially when it comes to education and children.
Best for: Digitally savvy parents who want to cultivate financial ‘superskills’ in their children.
Value Offering: This application has a mission – to give young people the financial freedom and responsibility they deserve. Starting at a tender age with an engaging application with cute graphics, parents step into the role of a bank to teach their children financial knowledge. Gimi app also helps to connect the family together to handle the family finances, making it more simple and fun!
Hype Level: Voted as ‘Editor’s Choice’ in the Apple App Store, Gimi app is now ranked number 9 under the Finance category. It has gotten much marketing traction since its first release, with Norway’s biggest blogger using it as well. This app seems to be promising with already more than 170 million pounds worth of pocket money paid out. Definitely sounds like something we will use as parents too!
