The city of Stockholm may possibly place a ban on the recycling app Tiptapp due to its violation of the city’s regulations on waste management. The app allows private individuals to get rid of household waste by matching users with others who might want to transport garbage for a fee.
According to the current legislation, the municipalities have a monopoly over the waste management to assure that the trash doesn’t end where it’s not supposed to be.
Digital has reported that the company has confirmed that Tiptapp has filed an appeal to review the app’s possible suspension.
As of the moment, the app continues its operations and users are free to continue to use the app.
